Fans who watch Impact Wrestling have seen William Morrisey’s (Big Cass) transformation and improvement since returning to the ring, but last night on AEW Dynamite is the first time he’s been in front of a much larger audience and received excellent fan reviews. on social networks
Apparently, Morrissey also turned heads within the wrestling business because there were questions about the status of his contract as he made his way to the ring on AEW Dynamite for his match with Wardlow.
On the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast, Andrew Zarian said that he heard people asking about Morrissey’s contract. Zarian said, “I got a couple of messages about him from people. People who want to know when their contract ends.”
Later on the show, Zarian said that the people of WWE were definitely blown away by what they saw. “I’m not going to say that WWE will accept him, but I can tell you that WWE is definitely impressed with him,” Zarian said. “There’s no way around it, man. I got a text last night while he was out and someone wrote, ‘Did you see this guy F’N?’”
Morrisey has spoken about his struggles with substance abuse and the work he’s put in to get clean. His personal problems are what led to his release from WWE in 2018, but everything indicates that the dark days are behind him and it would not be a surprise if AEW or WWE offered him a full-time contract.
